Director Ben Cates Retires

Ben Cates retired as the director of Rutherford County Rec at the end of the Summer 2018 season. He has served as the one and only recreation director since the Rutherford County Conservation Board began sponsoring a county-wide recreation program 46 years ago. Because of Ben's hard work and dedication, County Rec has grown to include Jr. Pro basketball, softball, Jr. Pro football, volleyball, winter recreation, summer recreation, and other activities for young and old across our beautiful county. We will miss his wisdom, patience, and his wonderful sense of humor. His hard work and dedication to County Rec will not be forgotten. Mr. Cates has created a strong program that will continue to serve the needs of Rutherford County citizens in the future. We wish Mr. Cates a happy retirement and continued success.
